DEROGATIS SEXUAL FUNCTIONING INVENTORY REPORT

Mr. Sample was referred for psychometric screening to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning. To this end, Mr. Sample completed the Derogatis Sexual Functioning Scale.

The following test findings are based on Mr. Sample's responses to a widely used standardized psychological test. As with all such tests, the validity of test results is limited by Mr. Sample's honesty and self-awareness. The following report should be taken as generalized probability statements that are made without benefit of clinical interview or history. Further clinical verification is needed to assist in the interpretation of test findings in light of Mr. Sample's unique history and present circumstances.

As the following Psychological Test results were designed primarily for Diagnosis and Treatment Planning purposes, use without collaboration, other then for the Clinical Screening purposes for which they were intended, may be misleading.

The following is a CONFIDENTIAL REPORT meant for qualified Mental Health providers. While feedback of test findings to clients is highly encouraged and should be an integral part of therapy and treatment planning, clients should not be directly given copies of this report as they may misunderstand report contents and their tentative nature.

SEXUAL FUNCTIONING

In a test of normal sexual functioning, Mr. Sample described having an above average sex drive with him often wanting to engage in sex. Mr. Sample admits to having participated in an exceptionally wide range and variety of sexual behaviors and practices as compared to others. This may indicate a clinically significant degree of sexual dis-inhibition, sexual interest and/or heightened sexual experimentation. Extremely high levels of sexual fantasy, to the point of preoccupation, are reported. He admits to almost constantly thinking about sex. At this level, degree of sexual fantasy is likely to grossly influence and interfere with Mr. Sample's daily functioning. Expressed attitudes toward sex were exceptionally Liberal and permissive. Very few taboos on sexual behavior and expression were reported.

Mr. Sample's fund of sexual information is excellent with him having an exceptional knowledge about sex and sexual functioning.

His identity is strongly discrepant and does not match stereotyped images of his gender. Mr. Sample described himself as having many more characteristics commonly associated with the opposite gender then like gender traits. The effects of this on his identity, self-image and sexuality should be clinically explored. Mr. Sample has an average body image and satisfaction with his body. He feels that he is normally attractive. A low average level of overall satisfaction with his sex life is reported.

TREATMENT IMPLICATIONS

As Mr. Sample admits having participated in a range of sexual behaviors and experiences much higher then is usual, the reasons/effects of this should be clinically established.

Direct behavioral and cognitive behavioral interventions may be needed to lessen degree of sexual thought/obsession. Thought stopping, aversive conditioning, negative imagery, covert sensitization and/or masturbatory satiation may be indicated.

The reasons for and implications of reported discrepancies between Mr. Sample's sex drive, level of sexual fantasies, and range of sexual experience should be clinically explored with appropriate interventions taken.

Mr. Sample reports having very Libertine, untraditional. and permissive sexual values with few sexual taboos existing. The impact of this on his life should be established.

The Clinical effects of Mr. Sample's admission to having many cross sex traits should be explored with psychotherapy indicated if this is ego dystonic or causing significant life problems.
