JESNESS INVENTORY INTERPRETIVE REPORT
To evaluate psychological and psychometric functioning, Mr. Sample completed the Jesness Inventory.
The test findings reported below are based on Mr. Sample's responses to a widely used standardized psychological test. As with all such tests, the validity of test results is limited by Mr. Sample's honesty and self-awareness.
The following report should be taken as generalized probability statements that are made without benefit of clinical interview or history. Further clinical verification is needed to assist in the interpretation of these test findings in light of Mr. Sample's unique history and present circumstances.
As Psychological Test results are designed primarily for Diagnosis and Treatment Planning purposes, the findings below focus on problems, deficits and pathology and so may de-emphasize Mr. Sample's strengths. Because of this, use other then for the Clinical Screening purposes for which they were intended may be misleading.
The following is a CONFIDENTIAL REPORT meant for qualified Mental Health and AODA providers. While feedback of test findings to clients is highly encouraged and should be an integral part of therapy and treatment planning, clients should not be directly given copies of this report as they are likely to misunderstand report contents and their tentative nature.
OVERALL ACTING OUT POTENTIAL
Mr. Sample's overall score on a Discriminant Function analysis indicates severe generalized Delinquent tendencies. He has a significant underlying predisposition to break social rules and act out Antisocially.
CRIMINAL CHARACTERISTICS
Mr. Sample does not acknowledge knowing or attempting to follow common social rules. A marked disrespect for social standards exists as Mr. Sample does not feel bound by or attempt to follow typical social conventions.
Mr. Sample displays severe Criminal values as he fears failure, enjoys taking risks, relies on chance rather than effort, attempts to be tough, and is gang-oriented.
Mr. Sample tends to be mistrustful individual who generally has difficulty relating with authority figures. Much hostility and rebelliousness can occur when Mr. Sample feels that others are attempting to control him.
THOUGHT PROCESSES AND JUDGMENT
Mr. Sample's Reality testing is not overly distorted by his needs and feelings. He does not unduly escape into fantasy.
Mr. Sample is an extremely socially immature, irresponsible individual whose coping skills and social judgment are poorly developed. He often unrealistically evaluates and inappropriately deals with problems due to his simplistic, naive, and childlike thought processes. Mr. Sample tends to lack in insight and empathy, with him having little awareness of how his behavior may effect others.
EMOTIONAL FUNCTIONING AND AWARENESS
Strong tendencies to automatically unconsciously repress feelings are evident in testing. This may lead to a vicious cycle of repressing and then explosively acting out on feelings with little awareness.
Mr. Sample reports extreme tendencies to consciously deny problems and suppress disturbing thoughts. This leads to a lack of insight and an inability to effectively deal with repeating dynamics in constructive ways.
Mr. Sample reports average tendencies to become depressed and withdraw socially. This does not appear to be a key trigger to acting out behavior.
Very high levels of social discomfort and self-consciousness are reported. This anxiety may adversely influence Mr. Sample's behavior.
Mr. Sample reports experiencing very high levels of angry feelings which concern him. He often may feel uncomfortable with his angry feelings and be concerned about how he deals with them. As he experiences high levels of anger, angry feelings may trigger acting out.
CRIMINAL MOTIVATION
Test results suggest primary motivations for acting out behavior.
Mr. Sample is an active Criminal Thinker who perceives the world in a distorted, egocentric manner that leads him to act Antisocially. Mr. Sample has limited interpersonal understanding and may projects his own hostility seeing others as threatening, angry, competitive, and in need of being controlled. Mr. Sample rarely takes responsibility for his actions and has little awareness of the impact of his behavior on others. Relationships can be exploitive with Mr. Sample quickly becoming negative, frustrated and aggressive when he does not get his way.
Testing also shows Mr. Sample has other secondary motivation(s) for acting out including:
Mr. Sample conformity to peer group values can also lead to acting out as he does not see his behavior as maladaptive because it gains peer-acceptance. Mr. Sample is more likely to follow others into crime then instigate criminal acts by himself.
Mr. Sample has a strongly negative self-image that leads him to ruminate on his problems with tension building until he acts out to relieve pent up feelings. Criminal behavior is often a way to deal with underlying emotional problems.
Mr. Sample is a manipulator who uses others to his ends. Manipulation and deceit can become an end in itself as he purposely attempts to con and outsmart others in his efforts to control them.
