THE SASSI INSTITUTE HAS NOT REVIEWED OR PROVIDED EDITORIAL INPUT TO THIS REPORT Ms. Sample completed the SASSI-3 to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning. The following test findings are based on Ms. Sample's responses to the SASSI-3. As with all such psychological tests, the validity of test results is limited by Ms. Sample's honesty and self-awareness. The following report should be taken as generalized probability statements that are made without benefit of clinical interview or history. Further clinical verification is needed to assist in the interpretation of test findings in light of Ms. Sample's unique history and present circumstances. The following is a CONFIDENTIAL REPORT meant for qualified Mental Health and AODA providers TEST VALIDITY Ms. Sample did not appear to have randomly answer questions about her Substance use. Ms. Sample had a generalized tendency to be normally disclosive in answering questions and may have accurately answered test questions. Supplemental addictions measures suggest significant defensiveness in specifically responding to use related items. FACE VALID USE AND SYMPTOMS Above average alcohol use and related symptoms are reported on face valid measures. Face valid indicators suggest potentially addictive levels of drug use and drug related symptoms. A preference for drug over alcohol use is described by Ms. Sample. SUBSTANCE USE CHARACTERISTICS Severe Obvious Attributes empirically found among Chemically Dependent individuals exist with Ms. Sample acknowledging "character defects" and personality traits commonly found among substance dependent individuals. Severe Subtle Attributes empirically found among Chemically Dependent individuals were reported which indicates that if addicted, Ms. Sample may have limited insight into her substance use patterns. ASSOCIATED FEATURES Ms. Sample indicates that she has been involved in a family or social system where severe levels of substance use have occurred. Test scores indicate an average amount of similarity to those found in alcoholic family members. Testing does not especially support the existence of significant codependency, as Ms. Sample to an average degree can focus on her needs and set proper boundaries. In testing, Ms. Sample reports possessing an average level of personality characteristics commonly found among individuals who have significant legal histories. This may indicate an average risk for criminal behavior. DIAGNOSTIC AND TREATMENT CONSIDERATIONS The level of defensiveness found on specialized measures of defensiveness coupled with moderate admissions of substance use on face valid measures indicate probable addiction. The level of defensiveness found coupled with moderate Subtle addictive Attributes and level of reported substance use are together suggestive of addiction, despite Ms. Sample's lack of admission of addictive use levels on face valid measures. Strong Subtle Attributes of addiction suggest a diagnosis of Chemical Dependency even though face valid reports of addictive use are not made. Strong Obvious Attributes of addiction suggest a diagnosis of Chemical Dependency even though face valid reports of addictive use are not made. Despite her level of reported substance use, Ms. Sample's level of involvement in social systems where extensive substance use exists indicate a high chance of addiction. Signs of Substance Dependence exist which require professional intervention. If needed, Treatment is likely to be of extensive duration with long term continuing care necessary due to high levels of underlying addictive tendencies.
